I worked most of my life in office positions. Seven years ago I worked at an after-school program in an elementary school. This is where I found my true calling. I loved going to work everyday and I loved the children. They made me feel good about myself at what I was doing. I was in charge of the craft table and I created the craft for the day and made a sample but let the children do it their way. I have also worked in a day care center many years ago in the infant room. I have overnight baby-sat for nurses that work overnight. I have two new grandchildren I adore but they are in New Hampshire. I guess the reason I am passionate about what I do is because the children bring more to me than I bring to them. I love listening to their stories. I was very pleased with the way they were drawn to me and my confidence grew from all the compliments I received from their parents. I had to leave the program after seven years to move to South Jersey and I still miss them all very much.
