I have always been the babysitter of the neighborhood, even growing up, and approximately 9 years ago I was a nanny for a 3-year-old and 7-year-old. I worked for them Monday through Friday, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. I would pick the 3-year-old up from his preschool, greeted the 7-year-old as he got home from school, played with the kids, bathed them if the parents were running late, cooked, did laundry and light housekeeping. They also planned to take me on vacations with them; however, after three months of being with them, my mother had a massive stroke and I had to move in with her and care for her full time. Most recently I was a nanny for a 2-year-old boy and 1-year-old girl approximately 2-3 times per week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Somedays later. I'd play with them, change their diapers, take them to the park when weather allowed, fixed their lunch and sometimes dinner, etc. The parents had some personal issues to work out, so they are no longer in need of my services. I was given a background check for the first nanny position and my resume shows I have had background checks for both my support specialist position with United States Probation and Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin). I also had a secret clearance with Martin, which lets you know I passed the check well enough to be trusted with "secret" information. I absolutely love children and I am a child at heart. I am willing to be a long term nanny, as it is important that once you bond with the children, to keep people you can trust and who the children are used to close by. I am also willing to do vacations, etc., with the families, if they so choose. I was caregiver for my mother for five years also, which gives you an idea of my integrity and character. I have a resume and character reference letters I will be glad to supply the interested families, should they prefer. I have extremely reliable transportation, am a non-smoker, and love pets, too.
