I have worked with a wide variety of children ranging from 1. 5 years to 13-year-olds. I have worked at various elementary schools both as an after school care position and as a volunteer assisting with tasks such as tutoring, planning field trips, providing nutritional snacks, coming up with after-school activities, playing group sports, and following disciplinary procedures.
I have also worked at the Summer Enrichment Program for gifted and talented students as a camp counselor for three summers now. There I have worked with students ages 10-13 and briefly 14-17-year-olds as well. My responsibilities as a camp counselor included chaperoning students to and from meals and classes, creating afternoon and evening activities that are both engaging and enriching for the gifted mind, as well as act as a mentor for any and all of the students partaking in the program.
I pride myself in being able to connect with children of all ages and hope to be a middle school counselor someday so that I can continue my experience with children and do whatever I can to reach out and help those in need.
