I love kids. I desire so greatly to be an elementary school teacher and always have since I was a little girl. I'm from an LDS family of nine kids, with me being the youngest. By the time I was 6 I was an aunt! I have grown up around kids my whole life. I was the "family babysitter" and still am once in awhile. I have always loved babysitting and being around children because they make me so happy! Their simple hearts, and playful minds are so entrancing to be around! When I was a senior in high school I took a child internship class for Orem elementary. That was my absolute favorite class. To be one on one with the kids, and to plan and teach lessons was so exciting to me! Yes, there were times when the kids would act up, but I am very patient and was able to kindly calm them down, and be sure they learned something! Teaching is hard, but it is my passion, because I have so much love for children. This past summer I had the opportunity to serve as a Young Performing Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Nauvoo, Illinois. We performed a short show, "Just Plain Anna Amanda", for children which taught them that there is nobody else like you! You are special and no one else can be you! At the end of each performance a child was invited up to the stage to personally hear from Anna Amanda that they are special, and must never forget that there's no one else like them. There were countless times that tears were brought to my eyes as I watched each precious child come up, whether shy or wild, they were so happy to be up there, and their sweet and innocent hearts could be felt by every person in the room. I have loved kids my whole life, and look forward to the day when I can be a mother myself. I love babysitting because it teaches me more and more about patience, love, kindness, humility, and motherhood. I love kids! And want to spend the rest of my life serving and caring for them, whether they be my own, a friends, family, or my students, I absolutely love them and will never tire of it!
