I have been taking care of children since I was a child myself. I had younger siblings, cousins, and neighbors that I took care of when their parents were unable to. As an adult, I have been helping my best friend to raise her 3-year-old son since the day he was born. I also have lots of nieces, nephews and cousins that I continue to care for when their parents need me to. The most children I've ever watched at one time was 7 (it was a really long day), and the youngest child I've ever cared for overnight by myself was 2 weeks old.
Other than caring for my family and friend's children, I have worked as a Kindergarten TA, a day camp counselor, and a tutor. After so many years working with children, I have really honed my instincts. I am patient, forgiving, and caring. I take pride in the fact that I can handle pretty much anything thrown at me.
It's just an added bonus that I love taking care of children. A friend of mine once told me that it looked natural for me to have a kid in my arms, and I think she was right. Taking care of children just feels right for me. My favorite activities to do with kids are art and crafts or anything outdoors.
