I began my career as a newborn nursery nurse after graduating from high school. Then was a BSN (not licensed), RT, EMT with child and infant first aid certification, doula and holistic health practitioner for 25 years. Also, I have reared 3 great children, all college grads. So now I will continue doing what I love best, nurturing newborns/babies and families. Specialize in caring for multiples.
Most recent position has been caring for preemie triplets from birth to 14 months +. I love the challenge, constant motion and the fulfilling reward of seeing newborns develop, thrive, and to see their personalities start to shine forth! After completing a six month apprentice home birth midwife/assistant midwife training with a well established practice in North County Coastal area, I decided to assist families in getting off to a good start, however long I am needed for this purpose. This decision has enriched my knowledge and expertise, updating all certifications and current birthing/child development/parenting options. I still provide postpartum doula services only, unless my schedule allows me to be able to make it for the birth. I have scheduled clients that have to come first. My skills include extensive experience in helping to set up and maintain nursery, bedroom, kitchen, bath and entertaining/relaxation areas for mom and her newborn. Whether running up and down the stairs, giving siblings attention, doing baby laundry, cooking, coaching breast feeding, tidying up the house, sometimes all at once. I am "on it!" My specialties include newborn massage, CranioSacral Therapy, "swaddle, jiggle, shooshing and slinging" techniques to quiet and calm your newborn. I am also known to sing and talk to my "baby clients", and to make up lullabies just for them.
Though CranioSacral Therapy is my specialty, and is highly recommended for mothers and babies, in addition, homeopathic remedies, Visceral Manipulation, my own "grandma remedies," are other services offered if desired and open to natural health remedies.
