For as long as I can remember, I've always enjoyed working with children. While attending college in 1997, I was blessed with watching an adorable 2yr old. We would spend time in her play room, exploration adventures outside, play dates at the park, learning to swim and working with her on developmental milestones via age appropriate play and exercises. Three years later her sister arrived. Shortly after she arrived the family moved out of state and my journey led me to another family.

In 2000 while continuing my education at Rutgers University, I met a great family with a special little boy who was 3yrs old and his lovable younger sister who was just shy of 1 yr old. I worked with the family for five years in the capacity of picking the children up from preschool/school, making meals, tubby time, developmental milestones, homework, and extracurricular activities. In addition to working with the family in their home I accompanied them on vacations and when they had work obligations out of state I provided overnight care. I enjoyed working with this family in the aptitude of a Nanny but also using my education in Psychology to help the family work with their oldest child who had a special needs diagnosis. I continued working with the family while starting my career as an Art Therapist 2001. In 2004 I unfortunately needed surgery and the children were of age to be phased into an after school program.

From 2005 to early 2008 I worked with children and adolescents providing social services via family court and juvenile justice. During this time I reflected upon the individual time I had with the previous children I had taken care of. I decided to use my education and utilize my career skill sets and become a professional Nanny.

In 2008 I met the family I work with now. I worked with a girl who was 2. 5 yrs old and her two older brothers, who at the time were 11yrs and 13yrs old. In the past three plus years I have enjoyed working with the children to facilitate outdoor exploration, aiding in developmental milestones, education, socialization, play-dates, tubby time, making meals, assessment of special needs and introduction of art, drama, and cooking. While taking care of the girl I was afforded the opportunity to attend Culinary School at the Art Institute of Philadelphia to study Pastry Arts and graduated in September 2010.

In September 2011 the girl started full time first grade and I now work with the family on a PT/Per Diem basis and I am looking to help another family as a PT Nanny (morning hrs till 2 p.m. ) or FT. The family is aware that I am currently looking for additional work and understands if a new family needs more than part time help they are happy to oblige.

In addition to working with the above mentioned families, I have provided interim care for a Dr. and her family in February-March 2008 until their au pair arrived. I watched a girl who at the time was 15 months and 3 yrs later her baby sister. I continue to work with this family as a per diem care giver. I also provide per diem care for another family of three energetic children ages 7yrs, 4yrs, and 2yrs old. I work in my church's infant nursery; watch my young cousins (infant to 4yrs old) and friend's children (infant to 3yrs old).
