The summer of my junior year in high school I went to Minnesota to help my aunt, who was recently divorced at the time, with her 7-year-old son, who has low-functioning autism, broadening my experience with children. The summer of my junior year in high school I went to Minnesota to help my aunt, who was recently divorced at the time, with her 7-year-old son, who has low-functioning autism, broadening my experience with children. I was also a CPR and First Aid certified Lifeguard.

My love for children translated into seeking a job in college that involved kids, so I worked as a Corps Member for the Americorps program Jumpstart, Jumpstart is an national organization for college students to participate in advocating for and participating in early childhood education. Twice a week I worked in a preschool with underprivileged children, ages three and four, reading to them, practicing the alphabet, writing their name, singing songs and poems to them and having a great time!
