Hi I'm Au pair second year and I will complete my second on March 8th. I worked in a nursery for 1 year to take care of children between 2-5 years old. Everything was great and they were so lovely. It was a good experience and taught me how to take care of them, to learn what they want, especially, what I have to do when something happens with them. I have done lots of activity with them and taught them how to write, speak, and draw etc. Here is the timetable at a nursery.
Apart from that, I was a mother's helper to take care of child under 1-year-old, who was a baby that I had taken care of. My responsibilities were giving a bath, dressing and watching when he wakes up. So, I saw his progress and it made me feel great to know that they are on the way or not. Even though it seemed to be hard and tired, I was so happy to be a part of it.
Now I would like to add more information about my 2 years in as an Au pair in America. I am staying at Landsdown, VA. They have only one child, aged 3 years old. He is my first priority to take care of. However, they have a niece staying with them too, so I don't mind to take care of her as well. Most of the times I will be with the boy, as the schedule of 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. I will give him breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the activities during the day, or take him for a walk, diapers change, potty train, read him a book, teach alphabets, numbers, colors and give him a bath sometimes. In the end of the day is the cleaning part so the toys must be in place, dishes must be done and getting ready for dinner which the host family and I always have together.
In my free time, I want to be a baby sitter for another family around the area.
