I've always been good with children. When I was growing up, I was four years older than my younger brother, and I was the one to always be chasing after him and making sure he stayed out of trouble, especially when we were in public places. I first started babysitting when I was around 13 years old. I babysat my 6 month - 1-year-old cousin. I've had a babysitting safety class, so I know specifics with keeping the children safe at all times. About two years ago, every Friday, for around two years, I watched three kids for a few hours after school until their parents got home. A brother and sister ages 7 and 4, and another little boy who was 1 at the time I started. I would fix them snacks, help them with their homework, take them to the park, teaching them to read, listening to their stories from school, and much more. There was always something fun going on. I've also babysat off and on for a couple different families I know from church or work, mostly infants and toddlers. For them, I fixed bottles, changed diapers. I actually prefer younger children. When I worked last year, I was often put in charge of the "kid's night" activity where we would make all sorts of fun crafts. I love kids and I love playing with them and helping them learn. I've been in school and working for the past couple of years and I would love to have a chance to work with kids again, I definitely miss it.
