I have been caring for younger children since I was a child myself. From the age of 10 I volunteered in my church nursery and offered babysitting to families I knew for children of all ages. After graduating high school, I pursued a degree in education to become a teacher. While in college, I worked part-time as a para-ed sub for schools in the area. I finished my degree and have worked as a substitute teacher off and on since 2008. As a substitute teacher I have worked with children in pre-k 3-year-old classes to seniors in high school.
While not working as a substitute, I held a job in marketing where I worked very closely with many schools in there area as well as coordinating events for children and families. In addition, though I have no children of my own presently, I lived with a friend of mine and her 2 toddlers for more than a year. I helped her care for and nurture those two children before marrying and moving away from Washington state. I experience and skills with children both on a professional setting as well more comfortable and personal settings.
