My experience with kids started back in Brazil, in 2004 when I coordinated multiple activities at church for children from ages 3 to 11. In 2007 I was a camp counselor for a week for children aged between 7 and 10 years old. At the camp I taught arts and crafts classes, organized outdoor activities, supervised and assisted children with their chores. I also interned at a day care center, where I assisted the care takers with feeding, playing, and taking care of children and some infants. Additionally I tutored two boys, one in elementary school and the other in middle school for six months.
In 2008 I came to the US as an Au Pair. For a period of 1 year I took care of two girls, 9 and 12. I assisted and encouraged the girls to organize their bedroom and do daily chores, prepare their own meals, snacks and pack lunches for school. I also organized arts and crafts activities, motivated children to be well behaved and do good things, and drove them back and forth to school and extra-curricular activities. In 2009, I began working as an Au Pair for a second host family for three years. I took care of two boys, a 13-year-old with learning disabilities and a 15-year-old.
