I'm an English Early Education teacher. I nannied here in Los Angeles when I first arrived and was later Lead Teacher for schools on the West Side. I am now pursuing a BA in child development. For the last 2 years, I have been licensed and running my own home daycare here in Lake Balboa. I believe in taking a holistic approach to the care of young children. We strive to use only organic products. In our large, backyard we have a sandbox, water table, playhouse, and trike track. In our sensory garden planters, the children learn to grow and tend foods and even taste some with their snacks and meals.
We keep pets and the children learn to care for and interact appropriately with the animals who share our home. We are close to the park, take short day trips, paint, sing, bake, read, climb, and have lots of fun.
As well as my British credentials, I have an AA from Santa Monica College in ECE. I am trained in American Sign Language and teach the children as they become developmentally able. I have CPR and First Aid training for adults and infants. I am trained in conflict resolution techniques. I have been Live-scanned (FBI background check), TB tested, and I have extensive references.
