That's not what happened at all. I was very willing to negotiate with Zoe, but when I didn't respond within a certain amount of time, she got frustrated and told me not to bother showing up. I take my responsibilities seriously, and was up front and honest with Zoe that because I worked so few hours for her, and my other employer had had to find a different kind of care for their special needs child, I needed to find something else that allowed me to pay the rent. Zoe initially understood and asked for the two weeks notice, and I explained to her that I was trying to make her aware of my situation, and was hoping to continue working for her until I found something else. She was completely unreceptive to working with me and instead of continuing our dialogue, told me to forget it and not even come for my scheduled days that week, which I explained I was more than willing to do. It seems unfair to say that I sent one text and abandoned the situation, because I clearly tried very hard to make a difficult situation lead to an amicable result.
