I want the kids I sit for to forget that they're being babysat and to just have a fun time.
Currently, I am a head counselor of a 4th grade boys group at a day camp. At camp, I have worked with 14 or more 9-year-old boys at a time, including children with disabilities like mild autism and Asperger's syndrome.
I frequently babysit for a family with 3 boys and 1 girl, occasionally a family with 2 girls, and another with 2 boys and 1 girl. I would say I am least comfortable looking after infants, but I have looked after a 13-month-old before. All of my previous babysitting jobs have come from camp, family friends, and through a Presbyterian church, where I am a member. I have three siblings and I come from a large family with 12 younger cousins, so I've been taking care of kids my whole life. I'm a junior a university, majoring in Writing Arts with a specialization in Fine Art, and an Honors Concentration as part of the Bantivoglio Honors Program. I'm also a member of a sorority, which is a national leadership and honors organization, a Dean's List scholar, and I have a 3. 67 GPA.
