My experiences in caring for children have been varied both in responsibility and scope.
I acted as a camp counselor at Harford Glen, a week long environmental science camp in Bel Air, MD for fifth graders throughout Harford County. Throughout my four years in high school, I was chosen as a counselor five times. My responsibilities as a counselor included waking the children up, helping them get ready for the day, attending meals with them and helping them fulfill assigned duties such as cleaning up the table, assisting them in lessons throughout the day, performing plays and skits at campfires for them at night, and making sure they were showered and put to bed by 9:30.
I was employed as a lifeguard for two summers at a community pool where I was CPR certified and responsible for watching over many children in and around the pool.
Throughout the years I have also babysat for various neighbors, friends, and family members. The ages of children I cared for have ranged from infant to preteen.
