I've been honing my craft for roughly 7 years, ever since I set out to become an educator, and am very proud to be a Manny! I've completed all college requirements to become a teacher k-5, except student teaching, which I plan on doing in the Fall of 2013. To supplement my elementary education credentials, I've taken a full academic year of additional classes to become Middle School Math and Science certified....
I've been honing my craft for roughly 7 years, ever since I set out to become an educator, and am very proud to be a Manny! I've completed all college requirements to become a teacher k-5, except student teaching, which I plan on doing in the Fall of 2013. To supplement my elementary education credentials, I've taken a full academic year of additional classes to become Middle School Math and Science certified. I have a lot of experience in different areas of childcare and teaching; such as multiple experiences tutoring, babysitting, camp counseling, managing after school programs, life guarding, and swim instructing ages 2-13.
I bring a fun and educational experience to the families I work with. My goal is to learn as much as I need to know about each child; such as allergies, medical needs, nutritional needs, homework, likes, dislikes, self-esteem, social skills or any special care needs. This attentiveness enables me to grow a strong bond of trust with each child. In order to provide the most consistent, stable and nourishing childcare, I maintain open lines of communication with parents and those involved in the lives of the children.
Some examples of things I do (depending on your needs) are cook, clean, kitchen duties, laundry, feeding, tutoring/helping with homework, pet care, bedtime routines, make sure chores/responsibilities are done and even diaper changing (not a problem). The more I'm able to help the families I work with, the better I feel about myself at the end of the day. Whatever it takes to make the household run smoothly!
I'm also willing to come whenever I'm needed. If a last minute date is made or your child becomes ill, I'll be there! I'm reliable, trustworthy, flexible and adaptable, which enables me to handle the hectic nature of families and children. I can't imagine a more enjoyable or rewarding job. I really love what I do and care about the people I work for.
