I have experience with caring for newborns through teens, including children with special needs. My experience began with babysitting at age 13, at age 15 I began my first summer nanny job with two children age 3 and 6. It continues with being a preschool "suite-mom" and classroom assistant at a preschool, Sunday youth (1st-5th) teacher at a church, and years of care for family and friend's children, including children with special needs. I have one daughter (14 years) that is an A honor student.

I am open to a temporary position, but feel strongly about a long term commitment because it allows me to build a bond with the family for a strong communication of care provided.

My view regarding care for children:
* I believe that every moment can be a teaching moment. A child can still have fun while learning and growing. This is the mind frame I raised my daughter with. Even though I can not take credit for her accomplishments, I believe that this approach helped give her a great start in her life's journey.

* I do not like to let precious time slip away in front of a TV. I enjoy getting out to places like the park, spending time with "hands on" activities such as crafts, board games, exploring outside with a walk / bike ride, sitting down with a good book or using the imagination for a fun make up story, or simply building up blocks to crash them down. ;) Every age has something to be able to enjoy.

* I believe safety is never something negotiable.
