I come from a multicultural family. My mom is Colombian and my dad is American. I have lived overseas for most of my life in eight different countries and am now a sophomore at American University. I am part of their honors college. Overseas, I would babysit children from ages two and older on occasional weekends. I also completed the Red Cross babysitting course. Just recently, for around 3 months, I was picking up a 12-year-old girl after school and watching over her. My main tasks were to make sure she completed her homework and to casually work on incorporating Spanish into her vocabulary. She also loved to bake, so from time to time we would spend the afternoon trying out new recipes.

I speak and write English and Spanish fluently and have studied Italian for a couple years. I am also very good at helping with homework since I have a strong academic base with a 3. 82 GPA. I played the piano for 15 years so I know how to read music and still play once in a while. In high school, I took AP Art and my drawings were always chosen for art displays. I have a set portfolio of around 10 pieces. I played varsity basketball and volleyball in High School. I received MVP for Basketball and athlete of the year in middle school and early high school. This summer interned for USAID at an American Embassy Abroad. My other past work experience have been assisting the Community Liaison Officer at two American Embassies. The CLO office deals with community events such as planning field trips for kids and families. Because of this, I had the opportunity to work with all types of children from different cultures.
