While my own daughters were growing up, I had an in-home child care business. I did this for about 6 years until my own children went into grade school. I then took a position with the school district doing lunch duty & yard duty. After moving back to our home town of Santa Cruz, CA., I took a position with an elementary as a yard duty. I come from a large family and understand the nurturing element that children need. As a yard duty, I allowed many young children who felt overwhelmed and afraid of a new atmosphere, like school, to feel comfortable knowing that there was someone to come to for comfort and reassurance. I currently work for a school district as a child nutrition assistant the mornings. I am looking for a part-time position, Tues, Weds and Thurs in the afternoon/early evenings. I enjoy crafting, gardening and play music on the weekends.
