During my junior and senior years in high school I was able to participate in an Early Childhood Education program at a vocational school. In that class I taught in a preschool one to two times per week, had an internship in a toddler room at the local community college, learned about child development, health and safety and found out that caring for children is something I want to devote my time to. I currently work full-time in a licensed daycare facility with infants, toddlers and preschoolers. I really love feeling like I'm making a difference in the life a child, but after a year in the daycare setting I've learned that I want to be able to give more individualized attention to a child (or two or three) rather than have to divide my focus between eight or more. I have experience with learning to walk, potty training, moving from sippy cups to open cups and many things in between.
