I have had experiences with children for many years, I was a girl scout for 4 years and then became certified to babysit a year later. I started babysitting for my neighbor when I was at the age of 13. Two amazing boys, one was 1 years old, and the other was 3 years old. I was a part-time nanny. I cooked for them, put them to bed and kept them entertained with games, books, and learning videos. I also babysat an 8-year-old, who was Autistic 2 days out of the week. I went on Fridays and Saturdays and helped him with homework, arts & crafts, went on walks, read to him etc; We went to museums, parks, and every time it was a different outside activity to become more active. I was more of a mentor for him and helped him become more social and communicating with other children. He opened up to me right away and till this day I still help him with anything he needs. I also major in Early Childhood education and psychology at Umass Boston. I would love to become a child psychologist in the near future.
