When I first entered high school, I knew what I wanted to do and what I wanted to go to college for, and that is, to work with children. My goal is to own a Childcare center. I became the neighborhood baby-sitter in 8th grade (when I was 13 years old) and started working at a local after-care program when I was 16, and was legally allowed to start working. If I could have started working when I was 14, I would have. In August 2003, I started working at a local day care center with children ages 1 to 5 and quit in January, 2006. I took my first nanny job in March, 2006. When I began working for the family, I worked as their Full-Time Nanny and Housekeeper. I am so happy I took the position, because they are a wonderful family and I have seen their girls grow up and develop, and I smile knowing that I helped them in doing so. I took a second nanny job working for another wonderful family Part-Time. I also worked full-time, temporary nanny job for a family that just couldn't be nicer. They offered me a full-time position after my 2 1/2 weeks were up, and I would have taken it in a heart beat if it wasn't a 2 hour drive. I attended Kean University and Bergen Community College with a major in Early Childhood Education, and I am thinking about double majoring and taking up Elementary Education as well. After graduating college, I will go one of two ways. If my finances are limited, I will become a teacher and save money until I am financially stable, or I will have enough money to get started in opening a facility. A big piece of my heart is dedicated to helping others and giving back to the community. I have always loved being around children and helping raise them.
