I have experience in a wide range of child care settings. I have cared for children as a live in nanny, a non-live-in nanny, a babysitter, and a daycare worker. I have looked after groups of 7 children at a time in a non-daycare setting, and after as many as 20 in a daycare setting. I have worked with all age groups from 6-week-old newborns, infants up to 14-year-old children.
I am the kind of caregiver who likes to keep children engaged while they are in my care. I will cook with them with permission of course, do arts and crafts, and play with them. I will play board games, Barbies, trucks, baby dolls, etc. I will also supervise swimming. I enjoy reading to children, singing songs, playing games and going to the park with them. I love to do themed activities, for example when spring starts I will do a planting activity, when summer starts up, we might have a water balloon/gun fight. I encourage outdoor play provided that the temperatures allow, and creative & critical thinking.
I am a student pursing a degree in Preschool and Childcare Administration. I plan to open and run my own child care center after graduation. I have four semesters left until I graduate. Being a student allows me to have a flexible schedule.
