For the past 5 years I've worked in multiple summer camp settings. When I started, I was simply a counselor through a church summer day camp program. Eventually I found a job that suited me better at a summer camp in San Jose. I worked there for 3 years and went from Counselor, to Lead Counselor and this past summer I was the Camp Director (meaning I programmed activities, led the camp meetings, hikes, provided food, hired a staff of 20 college students, and acted as the liaison between counselors parents and the owner of the camp). That being said, I've seen it all, and I've had to work hard for every promotion I've been given. That being said, I love kids. This past summer may have been the most difficult summer (working 60 hours a week for 10 consecutive weeks, in a camp that demands high energy for almost 150 kids) but it was the most fun and rewarding summer I've spent to date. I act professionally and always put the best interests of the children first.
