I was a K-1 through K-3 teacher for three and a half years. I have cared for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age. I have also been a nanny/babysitter for 3 years. My first family I worked for I cared for 2 boys, ages 6 months and 3 years. I took care of daily tasks such as feeding, changing diapers, potty training, dropping off and picking up from preschool, and going on outings. I was with that family for 1 year before the military moved them. Fortunately, I found a new family that I worked for full-time. While with that family I cared for 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl under the age of 5. I took care of all daily tasks as well as some overnight stays to allow mom and dad a romantic weekend away several times. I took the children on outings to the park, I put my skills as a previous teacher to good use with some crafts, and we read LOTS of books. Unfortunately, that family was also military and were relocated. I was with them for a little over a year. It is very important to me that I not only have a great relationship with the children but with the parents. Communication is so very important as I will be caring for your most precious possessions.
