Please be advised that the review listed above was written out of anger because Ms. Elizabeth W. could not afford my hourly/daily rate. Ms. Elizabeth contacted me on 06/27/11 and asked me to work for her on 06/28/11 at a rate of $3. 47/ per hour. She requested care for 11 ½ hours and wanted to pay me $40 for the day. As it is clearly stated in my profile, my rates range between $15 - $25 per hour. My first point of contact with Ms. Elizabeth W. was on 06/23/11 via phone call. She called me to schedule an interview for later that day. The interview went well and there was no discussion of a contract during the interview, but she did discuss with me her financial hardship. As a social worker by trade, I suggested Ms. Elizabeth W. contact Social Services for assistance and perhaps seek a home daycare because the rates are a little more affordable. Ms. Elizabeth W. informed me that she had been taking her children to a home daycare provider, but her children were recently terminated from the home daycare provider due to non payment. According to Ms. Elizabeth W., she still owes her previous day care provider more than $200. Additionally, during the interview, Ms. Elizabeth W. informed me that I was the 7th care. com child care provider she had hired. She stated that the other 6 care. com child care providers only worked for her 1 time each and never returned. When I asked her why, she said, "I don't know." Ms. Elizabeth W. shares in a small 2 bedroom apartment with her husband, her boyfriend and her 2 children. She has 1 child with each of them and it's not a comfortable environment. That is why I told Ms. Elizabeth W. that I would provide care for her children in my home. I explained to Ms. Elizabeth W. that child care at a rate of $15 / hr for 11 ½ hours equaled $172, but because of her financial dilemma, I offered her a discount. I requested $90 for the day and she became furious. She has 2 babies under the age of 2. I was willing to work with her, but we could not agree on a reasonable rate. She wants to pay $150/ wk total for 2 babies, and is requesting care for approximately 50/hrs/wk, which equals $3/hr. She also wanted to pay every 2 weeks after services are provided. I had a concern with that because it's very possible that she may not pay.
