I love children of all ages. I have five nieces and nephews, and I adore them. Most of my experience caring for young children comes from spending time with my nieces and nephews, and providing periodic care for them. I am a teacher by trade and have spent the last two years working as a teacher/residential counselor at a therapeutic boarding school for students with severe emotional disabilities. Working in this capacity gave me a great opportunity to develop strong relationships with my students (middle and high school) and confirmed to me the importance of a healthy environment and loving care for a child's development. I currently want to transition into caring for young children and see this as an opportunity to apply many of the parenting skills I learned as a residential counselor.
