Hi!! My name is Nancy, I am 49, active, healthy, have a good sense of humor, and am not opposed to playing a good game of hopscotch, or throw around a football/baseball. I love to play dress-up(not by myself!). Although it's been a couple of years, since the end of my last nanny position, I am still in contact with the family. I watched the little girl since she was about 2Mo's old, and her brother, at the time had just turned 4. They are now 7, and 11. It was the most wonderful, rewarding position I had ever held. They are now bright, intelligent, and well rounded(the little girl is)the boy is more of a home body, computer type, reading, and he tutor's, too. I had a hand in their school work, and, in activities, feeding, bathing.. I remember bathing Alyssa in the kitchen sink! My up bringing was/is a bit different than theirs as far as manners, respecting others, and speaking properly, and, when I see them now, the part of their life with me, kicks in, it's pretty cool!! I believe in proactive learning, making it as interesting as I can w/out it seem too much like the "drudgery" of learning, but on the same note, I feel children need to know they are learning, so when I praise them for "getting it", they can also see how much fun learning can be, does that make sense? Prior to these two children, I had two other, long term child care positions, both of which I held until I was no longer needed. I must say though, the two prior positions were quite a few years ago. I took childhood development, behavioral psychology, at O. C. C. I am passionate about dogs, and photography. I have been taking pictures since I was 10/11 yrs old, and have recently opened my pet portrait studio, "MUG SHOTS by nancy". I enjoy anything outside, and I feel I am able to make even rainy days fun while stuck inside. Infants are so hungry to learn, they soak everything in from day one(well, almost day one!). I enjoy every aspect of taking care of infants, from changing diapers, to dancing with them in my arms, to comforting them when you know all they want is their mommy or daddy. Taking photos of tiny babies is another "wondrous", beautiful passion of mine, candid shots are precious, and one of a kind! Well, I know this is a very long bio, and I could go on, but I won't. Thank you for your interest, and your time.
