I regularly babysit for a family of four; a married couple with a 10-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy. By regular I mean I babysit at least two weekends and eight weekdays a month. In 2007, I provided before and after school care for a 4-year-old boy. In 2002, I helped care for twin boys from the age of 3 months until they started preschool. Taking care of children is something I have a passion for. It is because of this I've wanted to pursue a career in childcare. I am hoping to find work as a live in nanny in the DC/MD/VA area, but until that happens I am available anytime after 9 a.m. day or night, except Saturdays. Because I do not drive I am willing to work within a 15 mile radius of my home in NW DC. For your convenience I can also babysit in my home. I live in a three story row house, with five bedrooms, one full and one half bath, a full kitchen, large backyard and no pets. Please keep in mind that if an emergency were to happen, a reliable and trustworthy adult would be available to help me for transportation and your child's health and safety would be my number one priority. As we all know no matter how much we try to protect our children, we should expect the unexpected. I am a mother of one and I also have a 2 yr old granddaughter. At present I voluntarily assist one of the neighborhood commissioners and I am also a block captain. I've done volunteer work as a counselor for parks and recreation at a couple of the recreation centers, one was at an elementary school. I was employed with the federal government in 1986 until I resigned in 2000 and since then I've worked with former Mayor and I've also done volunteer, as well as, paid work for one of council members. I am available full-time, as soon as possible, and on short-term notice.
