Hello my name is Monica. Please take the time to read my profile as my experience working with children is both rich and varied. I have worked as a nanny, in daycare centers and in the school system with deaf and special education children. The ages of the children I have worked with range from infants to middle school age. I also worked in a residential program for young moms who were pregnant and homeless. I supported and helped these girls as they adjusted to their new role as mothers and I worked in the nursery caring for their children when it was time for them to go out to work or school. It was challenging because on any given day I would have 2 infants and 2 or 3 toddlers to care for, but I loved it!!! I definitely have a way with kids. I really enjoy being around them and, it may sound corny, but I truly believe they are our future. I feel no matter what age, disabled or not, they all have something unique and special to give and say. Even in my own neighborhood, I'm like the "Pied Piper." The kids like to come over and we make cookies, play "Go Fish," play with my dog or listen to music and dance around! My experience spans over 15 years including most recently having worked in a self contained special education classroom as a teacher assistant/sign language interpreter for a 13-year-old girl with developmental and speech delays. I am kind, nurturing, reliable and responsible along with being creative, energetic and fun with a lot of love and patience to give. All these ingredients mix together to make me 1 fantastic babysitter/nanny/child care provider! :) My schedule is very flexible and I would love the chance to discuss you and your child's/children's needs with you.
