Hello:

I am looking for a part-time caregiver position while I attend the two-year Masters of Science Deaf Education Program at Washington University. I recently learned of this website while researching various jobs in the St. Louis area. Several of the opportunities on this website seem ideally suited to my education, experiences and career interests.

I believe that working as a part-time caregiver would be a perfect fit for me. As a future graduate student at Washington University I have a set schedule that seems conducive to many of the caregiver opportunities listed on this website. In addition to correlating schedules, my interests, experiences and career path strongly coincide with the field of care giving.

I feel that I have a great deal to bring to a care giving position. At the age of 13 I began my first babysitting job. From that point on my babysitting clientele grew. When I relocated for school I babysat for three different families frequently. 10 years after my first babysitting experience I still continue to babysit on a regular basis. My babysitting experience has been with children of various ages and abilities. I have babysat children ranging from newborn to approximately 12-years-old. My experiences have been with typically developing children as well as children with special needs. I enjoy babysitting kids of any age and ability considering each individual child has unique abilities to offer making the babysitting experience that much more memorable. In addition to babysitting I have worked as a lifeguard, co-coached swim team and taught swimming lessons. During my undergraduate work at Illinois State University I spent lots of time observing, completing practicum experiences and student teaching. In December of 2010 I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Deaf Education. Since then I have been a substitute teacher for preschool through high school while also continuing to be a caregiver. I feel that my interests, experiences, career path and passion for working with children would make me a great candidate for a care giving position.
