In my sophomore year of high school, I started caring for children by volunteering for my church's 2-year-old class on Sundays. I also began picking up babysitting jobs for a family of two girls, 6 and 9 years old at the time. Throughout high school I babysat for these girls off and on and continued caring for2-year-olds at church.

Since the beginning of this year, my first year at UT Austin, I was placed on the list of available sitters for people at my church in Austin. I have cared for many different families' children at home and for functions at the church.

I am discovering more and more how much I love being around children: carrying on conversations, drawing pictures, playing games, etc.
