Growing up my mom ran a preschool/daycare in our home so I was always around kids. As a child and into my teens I became very close with a girl who was a couple years my junior. She had Down syndrome and had trouble communicating, so we learned sign language and for a few years I was very fluent in it.
By age 13 I was babysitting triplet toddlers and their older sister, sometimes overnight. I would organize craft projects or activities that stimulated them physically, mentally, and emotionally.
As I got older I continued to babysit, although once in college school became a higher priority.
I now am 26, and have a 4-year-old son. I am CPR certified as well as trained in first aid and AED. I love children, I'm a very good multi-tasker, and if needed I am a decent cook and am willing to clean.
