In the past I was 17 years of age and mostly during the summer I would watch my cousin's kids. I had two cousin's that would ask me to babysit for them. One child was a girl and she was three years of age. She wasn't difficult to watch she was silly, and funny sometimes stubborn but it was fine. I asked periodically if she was hungry so it's not like I let her go hungry. We would sometimes watch movies but mostly she enjoyed looking at my mom's ducks and chickens outside so of course I taught her the animals. And the other children I watched were a boy and girl they were siblings. A 4 years-old girl and a 3 years-old girl. The little boy was more trouble for me to watch because, he liked to act up on purpose. The girl was more easy to watch. She would help me a little watch her brother because, she liked to act older and tell him things that he did were wrong. Really he was just liked to be more active than being bored. The girl was okay to watch movies but, she also liked to talk a lot.
What I do is talk to the kids a lot well of course because kids like to talk and I don't like being bored or quiet so talking and teaching the little ones more seems to make them more comfortable with someone like me watching them. I usually like to feed the kids real food and I enjoy cooking for them. Not just easy things to make that you would warm up but actual meals. I've tried reading books to the kids I have watched but, they don't have a good attention span. I like walking with them outside.
