I have been responsible for getting the children ready in the morning such as dressing, helping with general hygiene, transporting to and from school, after school activities/sports, therapy, midday doctors appointments, homework and special projects, playtime activities, meals, light housework, and small household errands.

In 2000 I came across an ad in the Gilroy Dispatch for a nanny needed in Hollister, CA and I have been doing it now off and on ever since. I have worked for four families in the area and have felt I have not only made a positive impact on the children I have cared for but they have made a significant impact on my life as well. I have enjoyed what I do so much that it has determined the educational path I have chosen and brings me great pleasure. It is sometimes hard as a parent to leave your children while going to work everyday and be gone so many long hours having your children in daycare; that is one of the things I have found to be much more rewarding in my position as a nanny, I have become part of the family essentially in every position I have had. I still keep in touch with most of my families and enjoy the constant updates on how they are doing. It is so nice to be able to keep your children in their own environments instead of such long hours away from both their home and parents. I also have found that with such fast paced lives we live these days, it's nice to know when you are done with all you have to do is come home to your children and not have to run around gathering them from their pick up points and you can come home and just be mom/dad, and being able to provide that service is very satisfying. Our youth is key to the future and helping mold their young minds and helping them to reach their goals is so rewarding.
