Hi, I'm Melissa. I'm currently 23 years old and was just recently hired as a full time teacher for NISD. Right now I'm teaching sixth grade science and LOVING it. I'm certified to teach K-6th but plan to teach 7th and 8th grade in the future. Last fall I student taught at Rudder Middle School, graduated in December from A&M and then took on a six week sub job which eventually led me to an interview. :) I have been babysitting for the last six years and have experience will all ages - newborns, toddlers, school-aged, teens and even twins.

During the previous school year I worked at a middle school where I tutored 6th, 7th and 8th graders in the following subjects: AVID, math, science, social studies & English. AVID is a college prep course in which we teach the students about college and introduce new processes for solving problems. I've now taught fourth and fifth grade classes for the Northwest Vista observation and field experience requirements. I also obtained my Associate's degree from Northwest Vista College.

I'm familiar with several indoor play places, parks and museums in the area. The main ones include the Witte Museum, Mini Town, Pump It Up, the Zoo, Just Add Kids, local libraries, Raymond Russel Park, Funtastic Playland & Dynamoze. Things that I enjoy doing the most include the following: reading, being outside, shopping, fishing, watching movies, playing Wii, and watching football. Go Cowboys!
