My experiences in caring for children includes a range of ages, including infant through school-aged children. I have always enjoyed working with and spending time with children. I started babysitting during high school and I continued to babysit through my college years, which led me to my degree in education. My background is in visual arts, with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Art Education. I was an art educator for 4-5 years working at a school for children with learning disabilities.
For the past 2 years I have babysat for a family with three children, ages 13 months, 3 years, and 5 years, while going back to school to further my education. During this time, I planned exciting and educational outings and managed simple household responsibilities while providing a high quality level of care. I also engaged the children in creative exploration of art media and materials with many different themed art projects. Some of the great trips we took were to Poppleton Park, the library, a Native American Cultural Festival, the Royal Oak Farmer's Market, and much more!
I also have some medical professional experience and am CPR certified.
