Children are a huge part of my life.
I grew up in a Christian home where my two younger sisters and I were home schooled. I was caring for my little sisters from a very early age. I started babysitting when I was 13 years old for people in our church and home school groups. During high school, I created my own curriculum for a Preschool-2nd grade home school Spanish class, which I taught every Tuesday for a trimester. I have also tutored various students in English, Writing, and Reading. While I was in college pursuing a Degree in Elementary Education as well as in Psychology, I babysat twins. One of the girls was legally blind and had special needs. I was a note taker for a blind student at my college, and an intern at my church for the middle school and high school youth group. Every summer I teach a class for VBS at my church for grades K-6. Most recently, I worked as a full-time nanny for a little guy from the time he was 3 months old - a little over a year (I worked there just 1 month short of a full year). I only stopped working with the family because my husband and I were expecting our own little one August of 2012. She was born on the 30th, and is wonderful! Amelia has a little cousin who was born 5 months after herself, and we see her twice a week. Amelia has been very good when it comes to "sharing" me. She is perfectly fine with me holding other children, and giving them attention. She is a sweetie, and really enjoys being social and playing with other children, especially those near her own age.
Just a heads up, I will be taking Amelia with me for any care. com jobs, as we come as a team :).
