Hi! My name is Meghan and I am excited about the potential of working with your family and would love to give you the chance to get to know me a little better. I have been working with children in some way or another for the majority of my teenage through adult life. I have been babysitting for children since I was about 11 years old. At that time, I primarily babysat for neighbor's children and family members. My love for children and teaching inspired me to further my education and gain an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and Reading Education. During college, aside from my many classroom experiences, I babysat for my professor's children as well as volunteered as a care provider for a Mom's Day Out program at a local church. Since graduating college in 2008 and obtaining my teaching degree, I have taught kindergarten at an Early Childhood Development center and often helped out in other rooms including infants, toddlers and preschool age. After teaching Kindergarten, I spent two years as a Reading Interventionist at an Elementary School. At this position, I taught struggling readers in Kindergarten through Third Grade. Currently, I teach First Grade at an Elementary School. I enjoy watching the children in my class grow more and more into independent learners every day. I also babysit occasionally on the evenings and weekends and am looking to spend time this summer caring for children of a local family.
