I began babysitting in high school for a family with three children (ages 7, 9, and 11), and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. During my time as an undergraduate, I served for three years as a girl scouts leader for a 15-member troop of fourth and fifth graders. The focus of this program was on women's empowerment as well as participating in community-related projects designed by the girl scouts. As a dental student, I plan to participate in several programs that address children's health needs in Philadelphia. My experiences caring for children have been some of the most rewarding and enjoyable, and I look forward to continuing to volunteer and work with children in my future career as a dentist, as well as through part-time work starting as soon as possible.
