My mother operated a daycare in our home since before I was born, and once I reached the age of responsibility, I voluntarily helped her care for children before and after school. During my adolescence, I also spent many evenings as a babysitter. Now, at the age of 28, I still thoroughly enjoy playing and caring for children, especially with my 5 nieces under the age of 8! I believe in positive reinforcement, and enjoy teaching basic sign language to young children to help them communicate their needs. I also think taking children outside to enjoy all the things in nature is very important for development. My mother is still one of the most patient people I've ever known, and I strive to be the same, as she is my best role model in childcare.
As you may notice on my profile, I do not have many years of 'paid experience'. But please take note that I have over 20 yrs of childcare experience, most of which was volunteer due to my enjoyment in it.
