My experience in child care has ranged over the past 6 years. Throughout my high school years I had babysat for many of the children in my neighborhood ranging from ages infant to 14 years. I have also had experience nannying for the 3-month-old daughter of my boss of the sandwich shop I worked at throughout the summer. During this time I was able to spend full days with the 3-month-old which included feeding throughout the day, changing diapers, and walking around the town nearby and her neighborhood as well as providing developmentally appropriate play.
I am attending Wheelock College where I am receiving a Bachelor's degree in Human Development, and a professional major in Child Life as well as a minor in Music. During my experience in college I have had small volunteer and internship opportunities at the Riverside Child Care Center in Newton, KidsArts after school arts program in Jamaica Plain, Newton-Wellesley's Pediatric Emergency Department, Children's Hospital Boston where I had my longest full time internship, and now I am currently interning at Franciscan's Hospital for Children.
I have worked with a large variety of children in ages, developmental levels, and physical abilities.
I love to play, which is purpose and focus of Child Life, and I emphasize playing with a purpose and the importance of having fun! I love to incorporate music and art as well when nannying or babysitting children!
