During my high school years I babysat for a girl for 4 years from the age of 8-12. Once I moved down to Springfield, MO for college I babysat for 2 children. One was a 1-year-old girl and the other was a 6-year-old girl. For the 1-year-old, I was able to change diapers, make meals, take on walks, participate in activities, bathe, read a book and put to sleep. For the 6-year-old, I drove her to school, packed her lunch, made her breakfast, drove to soccer games, rode bikes, did activities and picked her up from school.
I also participated in a program called Big Brothers Big Sisters. I would visit a child weekly and do different activities with them at the site. I eventually was allowed to become a "distance buddy" where I could bring them to different locations around town.
I have volunteered at my local coaching basketball and soccer.
I also have been a lifeguard teaching swim lessons for 4 years and receive my CPR/First Aid certification each year.
