I grew up taking care of my younger sisters, one being autistic. I have experience with special needs children and young children. I volunteer every summer at a camp in Vermont. It is a program for autistic children and their families. I have helped care for my friend's son, then 6-12 months, when I lived in Florida. I currently babysit a few times a week for an amazing family with a 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son and have been doing so for three years. We love playing board games, playing hide and go seek, tag, taking walks to the park and coloring. We play in the snow in winter and in the sprinkler in the summer. My last half hour with them we usually unwind with a few books or I'll start a movie for them, so they're nice and calm when their father returns from work. A few things about myself, I'm a big book nerd! I grew up playing outdoors in the woods and riding my bike all the time. I love my kid movies, but I was very outdoorsy and very much a tomboy as a child. Now I like to hike in the warmer months with my seven pound Chihuahua Farley and my fiance. During the colder months I like to catch up on a good book or movie with my cat Kiki. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
