I'm Mayra. I'm a 23-year-old, Child Development major currently studying at a college in Los Angeles with a focus in hospitalized child life. My experiences include three years of supervising classes of 20 students of various grades for an after school program. I've received an Associate Teacher Certification after completing 90 hours in an Early Education Center in Hollywood. I worked for a tutoring company as a one-on-one, in-home tutor. My students ranged from 1st grade to 7th grade, and I focused on English Language Arts. With this company I also had an opportunity to tutor 2 amazing girls, age 5 and 7, with mild and severe autism. As a paid sitter, I've worked with 2 families. The first was a family of four with two girls ages 4 and 8 in Silver Lake during the summer. The second is a single mother of two, boy and girl ages 9 and 11. My job with both included helping with homework, playing games, and just hanging out. Growing up, I also lend a helping hand to my sister with her children who are now, 5, 8, and 11, as well as my younger brother who is now 9. My favorite things to do with the kids is arts and crafts. I like to keep hands and minds busy. My favorite past times include reading, scrapbooking and surfing the net for pretty things with lots of color that are pleasing to the eye (for no real reason!)
