I am a Christian. I feel the childhood years are the best memories and best time to instill values for lasting effects. I have taken care of children for 9 years. I have 2 teenage boys now and I always invite other kids at my house for a night over. Children are sweet and sincere, unlike grownups. That is why I like to deal with children. They don't have intentions to hurt others unless they have a mental illness, which I have also worked with. I do value the input and wishes of the parents but I will also value the input of the child. I have cared for different ages, nationalities and some with disabilities (oxygen. tracheotomies, Down Syndrome and some with Autism). It is not what the parents want; it is what is beneficial for the child to grow with less problems in the future. Positive reinforcement is very crucial and rewards bring out the best in kids. That is what I focus on. Homework must be done before a child goes to play after school. Of course a snack is inevitable when a child returns from school. I don't like to be like a police officer but I like to enforce a few rules; kids do better with a regulated environment. I like taking children out to skating rinks, movies, bowling, and I have taken some kids camping. I paint, so art and crafts are my thing. I like going to the gym every other day so taking kids to swim is healthy for me and them.
