I started babysitting when I was 14 for a family friend. I had my hands full; however, as long as we were playing games outside and enjoying our day things were fantastic. I learned a lot from those boys. Coming from a family of one sister, I had never had the privilege to experience "boys". I also cared for his brothers two little girls several times throughout the summers (ages 4 and 7-I think). They were very young. I have also sat for several of my cousins with newborns. I would have to say that they are my second favorite to babysit. In February of 2010, I gave birth to my first little angel, then in March of 2011 my little man, was born. They are 1 yr and 11 days apart (I know... very close), but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way!
I do have several rules that I follow to the T: No sweets or high active games before bedtime-I have found that this does not allow the children to feel that they are tired when it's time to go to bed. I love to read to children right before bedtime as well. If it's a beautiful day outside I try to take the kids to play outside as much as possible. I was raised on a farm where I played outside 24/7. I absolutely love the fresh air and believe that it is better for children than to sit inside all day watching TV. I try to monitor TV time (less than an hr. if possible). I also LOVE to cook healthy meals for the little ones.
