I am a retired teacher with 25 years of teaching experience. In addition to full time classroom teaching, concentrating in third and fourth grades, I taught middle school science for two years, remedial reading in a Title 1 program for two years, tutored, substituted in grades 1 through 6, and worked with special needs children.

While teaching, I was involved in a number of after school programs, such as ski club and raising money for Guiding Eyes. I helped bring in outside speakers and programs to my classroom and for the school.

I've raised two sons, who are now respected and productive members of society, each with one daughter. While my sons were in school, I was active in their in-school and out of school experiences, as a room parent, volunteering in classroom activities, chaperoning trips, and being a cub scout leader.

I always strove to help children realize their own specialness, talents and potential, and guide them in sharing these abilities with others.

I tutored a set of 10-year-old twins from March, 2012 through the end of the school year. I then spent two morning a week for five weeks reviewing fourth grade skills and standards in preparation for fifth grade in their new school in Portland, OR. We also did an in depth study of a novel.
