I'm a very honest, patient, trustworthy, responsible, and mature adult. I have tons of fun with children by keeping them entertained with arts and crafts, music, dance, play-doh, paint, water and sand play, sports, games, etc. I have had tons of childcare experience and I have my 90 hours certificate for early childcare. I also have my background check on paper.
I learned disciplining children through the 90-hour program from First Connections and experience through teaching. When disciplining, I like to get down to the child's eye level and talk with them about the situation. I like parents to give me input or any suggestions needed to help make each day fun and happy for their children! I have never and would never hit, touch a child in any wrong way, shout, abuse or hurt a child!
I don't ever put children in time out unless a parent asks me to do so. If I believe that a child is in danger of something or doing something wrong, I use nice verbal guidance to change their course of direction. Family is very important to me.
I grew up in the country side of northern Maryland with two warm-loving parents and two siblings. My parents always used verbal guidance to guide me through life and never put me in time out or punished me harshly. I am a very open-minded, happy, well-rounded person who is artsy, creative, and athletic. I have worked at two childcare centers and I was a childcare teacher and taught the 3-year-old class for three years. While I was teaching, I got my 90-hour certificate for early childcare.
For two years, I've worked at a private school, after-school child care program for children in kindergarten to fifth grade. In the spring season, I baby-sat/nannied a newborn infant. I have a lot of fun-filled childcare experiences with children ages newborn to 10 years old. I have updated my AED/CPR certificate.
I love playing games, drawing, painting, reading books, and lots more! My native language is English though I have learned up to an intermediate level of Spanish and still learning to improve to advance/fluent Spanish for those families who are bilingual.
